Editing Hub Details

Before You Begin

  1. Log in to BeED using your account credentials.
  2. Make sure your active role is set to Educator (or Admin).
  3. From the left menu, navigate to Hub.

What You Can Edit

You can update your Hub's cover image, name, description, and duration settings at any time โ€” regardless of the Hub's current status (Active, Paused, Scheduled, or Ended).

Let's get started ๐Ÿ‘‡

How to Edit a Hub

Step 1 โ€” Open the Edit Hub form

From your Hub list, there are two ways to open the Edit Hub form:

  • Click the three-dot (โ‹ฎ) More Settings menu on any Hub card, then select Edit Hub Details.
  • If you are already inside a Hub, click the Edit button in the Hero section (top-right of the Hub card area).

The Edit Hub Details popup will appear โ€” it mirrors the Create New Hub form, with a Save button in place of the Create button.

Step 2 โ€” Update the Cover Image (Optional)

  • Click the pencil icon on the top-right of the image area to upload a new image.
  • Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, JPG (maximum file size: 2MB).
  • If your image exceeds the 4:3 aspect ratio, BeED will automatically crop and centre it to fit.

If you do not change the image, your existing cover image will be kept as-is.

Step 3 โ€” Update the Hub Name (Required)

  • Edit the text in the Hub Name field as needed.
  • You may use text, numbers, emojis, and special characters.
  • The character limit is 500 characters.

The Hub Name field cannot be left empty. If cleared, the field outline will turn red and the Save button will be disabled.

Step 4 โ€” Update the Description (Optional)

  • Edit or add text in the Description field.
  • The character limit is 500 characters.
  • Leave this field blank if no description is needed.

Step 5 โ€” Update the Hub Duration (Optional)

  • If Duration was previously disabled, you can enable it now by toggling Set Hub Duration to on, then selecting your Start and End dates.
  • If Duration was previously enabled, you can adjust the Start and End dates, or disable the toggle to remove the duration entirely.

Date rules to keep in mind:

  • Start Date must be today or a future date. Past dates are greyed out and cannot be selected.
  • End Date must be the same as or later than the Start Date.
  • Time Zone defaults to your previously saved preference. Changing it here will update your default for future Hubs.

Disabling the Duration toggle after a Hub has already started will not retroactively change its history โ€” the Hub will simply continue as Active with no end date going forward.

Step 6 โ€” Save Your Changes

  • Click Save to apply all changes.
  • Click Cancel to discard your edits and return to the previous screen.

Changes take effect immediately after saving.

  4. Update the description if needed.

Important Notes / Tips

  • You can edit a Hub in any status โ€” Active, Paused, Scheduled, or Ended.
  • Editing does not affect Learner access โ€” Learners already in the Hub will not be removed or notified when Hub details are changed.
  • Changing the Hub Name updates it everywhere it appears, including on Learner devices.
  • If you disable Duration on an Active Hub, it will remain Active indefinitely until you manually pause or delete it.
  • To update Room-level settings (such as Room names or Experio schedules), see Creating and Managing Rooms and Scheduling Experio Access.
