Pausing and Resuming a Hub

Before You Begin

  1. Log in to BeED using your account credentials.
  2. Make sure your active role is set to Educator (or Admin).
  3. From the left menu, navigate to Hub.

What Pausing and Resuming Does

Pausing a Hub is a way to temporarily block Learner access to all Experio within that Hub โ€” without deleting anything. When a Hub is paused, all Experio are removed from Learner devices. Resuming the Hub restores access immediately.

Pausing is not the same as Ending. A paused Hub can be resumed at any time. An ended Hub has passed its duration end date and cannot be reactivated the same way.

Let's get started ๐Ÿ‘‡

How to Pause an Active Hub

There are two ways to pause a Hub.

Option A โ€” From the Hub List

  1. Locate the Hub you want to pause on your Hub list.
  2. Click the three-dot (โ‹ฎ) More Settings menu on the Hub card.
  3. Select Pause Hub.
  4. The Hub status will update to Paused and the button will change to Resume Hub.

Option B โ€” From Inside the Hub

  1. Open the Hub you want to pause.
  2. In the top-right of the screen, locate the Hub status area.
  3. Click the Pause Hub button.
    • On hover, the button turns full orange.
    • On click, the status changes to Paused and the button changes to Resume Hub.

When a Hub is paused, all Experio are immediately removed from Learner devices. Learners will not be able to access or submit answers until the Hub is resumed.

How to Resume a Paused Hub

Option A โ€” From the Hub List

  1. Locate the paused Hub on your Hub list.
  2. Click the three-dot (โ‹ฎ) More Settings menu on the Hub card.
  3. Select Resume Hub.
  4. The Hub status will update to Active and the button will change to Pause Hub.

Option B โ€” From Inside the Hub

  1. Open the paused Hub.
  2. In the top-right of the screen, locate the Hub status area.
  3. Click the Resume Hub button.
    • On hover, the button turns full green.
    • On click, the status changes to Active and the button changes to Pause Hub.

When a Hub is resumed, all active Experio are pushed back to Learner devices immediately. Learners can access and submit answers again right away.

Important Notes / Tips

  • Pause and Resume are only available on Active and Paused Hubs. You cannot pause a Scheduled or Ended Hub.
  • When a Hub is paused, Learners cannot see or interact with any Experio in that Hub โ€” even if individual Experio are still within their scheduled access period.
  • Pausing does not delete any data. All Rooms, Experio, Learner progress, and scores are preserved while the Hub is paused.
  • If Allow Late Submission is enabled on an Experio, Learners still cannot submit while the Hub is paused โ€” the Hub pause overrides individual Experio settings.
  • The Pause Hub button in the new Hub replaces what was previously called the Stop Hub button. The Resume Hub button replaces what was previously called the Restart / Start button.
  • For Hubs with a set duration, pausing does not extend the end date โ€” the clock continues running in the background.
