Navigating the Unified Library
The Unified Library is your central workspace for accessing and managing all academic materials in BeED. Understanding how the interface is laid out will help you move between sections quickly and get to what you need without friction.

Before You Begin
- Log in to BeED using your account credentials.
- Make sure your active role is set to Educator.
- Navigate to the Unified Library from the main BeED menu.
What You'll Find in the Unified Library
When you open the Unified Library, the interface is divided into three zones.
1. Top Frame
The Top Frame runs across the top of the page. It contains:
- Library — the module name display. Nothing happens on hover or click.
- Search bar — search for files by title across your Account Library, My Library, and their archived sections.
2. Left Frame
The Left Frame is the sidebar on the left side of the screen. It contains navigation icons for switching between library sections. On smaller screens, the sidebar collapses to icons only — tooltips remain available in collapsed mode.
3. Right Frame
The Right Frame is the main content workspace. This is where your selected library section loads and where you will do most of your work.
The Left Frame Sidebar
Each section is displayed as an icon. Hover over any icon to see its name as a tooltip.

- Hover — the icon background turns pale grey and a tooltip appears.
- Active / Selected — the icon background turns pale blue and the section loads in the Right Frame.
How to Navigate Between Library Sections
- Open the Unified Library from the main BeED menu.
- The Account Library loads by default in the Right Frame.
- Locate the Left Frame sidebar on the left side of the screen.
- Hover over an icon to see the section name tooltip.
- Click the icon for the section you want to open.
- The Right Frame updates to show the content for that section.
- The selected icon turns pale blue to indicate your current location.
Using the Search Bar
- Click on the Search bar in the Top Frame.
- Begin typing a file title.
- After 1 character, an X icon appears on the right — click it to clear your search.
- After 2 characters, suggestions appear automatically below the search bar.
- If no matching files are found, the Right Frame displays: "No results found."
The search bar searches file titles only — it does not search inside file content. Full search results across all library sections are covered in the Global Search guide.
Based on the steps above, here's a quick summary:
- Open the Unified Library from the BeED menu.
- Use the Left Frame sidebar to switch between library sections.
- Use the Top Frame search bar to find files by title.
- The Right Frame always shows the content for your currently selected section.

Important Notes / Tips
- The Account Library is always the default view when you first open the Unified Library.
- On smaller screens, the sidebar collapses to icon-only mode. Tooltips remain functional in this mode.
- The search bar results are based on your currently selected section from the Left Frame.
- Switching sections does not reset any sort, view, or filter settings you have applied — each section remembers its own preferences.
