Getting Started with the Experio Builder

The Experio Builder is your main workspace for creating and editing Experios in BeED. Before you start adding content, it helps to understand how the interface is laid out, what each part of the builder does, and how saving and publishing work. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to get started confidently.

The Experio Builder is available for Educators on the web platform.

Ready to get familiar with the Experio Builder? Let's take a closer look below.

Before You Begin

  1. Log in to BeED using your account credentials.
  2. Make sure your active role is set to Educator.
  3. Navigate to the Unified Library and open an existing Experio, or create a new one using the (+) Plus button.

The Experio Builder Interface

When you open the Experio Builder, the interface is divided into the following areas.

The Main Frame

The Main Frame is the persistent top bar of the builder. It is always visible regardless of which part of the Experio you are editing. It contains:

Breadcrumbs — shows your current location in the format: Library > Experio Title > Map / Stage Name. The breadcrumb updates automatically when you rename your Experio or navigate into a Stage. Clicking a breadcrumb item navigates you back to that level.

Overview button — opens the Overview Panel, which displays the full hierarchical structure of your Experio including all Points, Stages, and Blocks. Click again to close the panel.

Experio Details button — opens the Experio Details side panel where you can set the title, summary, learning objectives, curriculum tags, and other metadata. Click again to close the panel.

BWiz button — opens the BWiz AI assistant panel to help you plan your lesson content.

⚠️ BWiz 2.0 is currently being rolled out and may not be available yet. Expected availability: mid-June 2026.

Map Settings button — opens the Map Settings panel where you can configure the display mode (Responsive or Fixed) and orientation (Portrait or Landscape) of your map canvas.

Experio Settings button — opens the Experio Settings panel where you can configure question settings such as timers, max scores, show answer, and post submission editing.

Accumulative Scores display — shows the total possible score for your Experio based on Max Score values assigned to Question Blocks. Updates in real time as you build.

Preview button — opens a preview of your Experio as a learner would see it.

⚠️ Preview is currently being rolled out and may not be available yet. Expected availability: end of June 2026.

Save button — saves all current changes to your Experio as a draft.

Publish / Update button — publishes your Experio once all changes are saved.

The Map Frame

The Map Frame is the main canvas area where you build the structure of your Experio. From here you can:

  • Add and name Points — the top-level structural units of your Experio
  • View and manage Stages within each Point
  • Drag and reposition Point Holders freely across the canvas
  • Add decorative text boxes to the canvas

The Map Frame is the first thing you see when you open a new Experio.

The Stage Frame

When you click on a Stage from the Map Frame, the builder switches to the Stage Frame — a full-page editing view for that Stage. From here you can:

  • Add and manage Blocks — the individual units of content within a Stage
  • Reorder Blocks within the Stage
  • Use the Expand All button to expand all collapsed Blocks at once

Click the breadcrumb at the top to navigate back to the Map Frame at any time.

How to Save Your Experio

  1. Make your changes anywhere in the builder.
  2. Click the Save button in the Main Frame header.
  3. All changes are saved and the Save button becomes inactive until a new change is made.

Always save before publishing. The Publish button is disabled whenever there are unsaved changes.

How to Publish Your Experio

  1. Complete your Experio and click Save to ensure all changes are saved.
  2. Click the Publish button in the Main Frame header.
  3. Your Experio is published and its status updates to Published.

Once published, the Publish button is replaced by an Update button. Click Update to return the Experio to editable draft mode if you need to make further changes.

How to Navigate Using Breadcrumbs

  1. Open the Experio Builder from the Unified Library.
  2. The breadcrumb at the top shows your current location — for example: Library > My Experio > Map.
  3. Click on any part of the breadcrumb to navigate to that level.
  4. When you rename your Experio Title in the Experio Details panel, the breadcrumb updates automatically to reflect the new title.

Based on the steps above, here's a quick summary:

  1. The Main Frame header is always visible and gives you access to all panels, settings, and actions.
  2. The Map Frame is where you build the structure of your Experio using Points and Stages.
  3. The Stage Frame is where you add and manage Blocks within a Stage.
  4. Use Save to save your draft and Publish to make it available to learners.
  5. Use the breadcrumbs to navigate between the map and individual Stages at any time.

You're all set — start building your Experio!
