What are Learning Standards (LS) and Performance Standards (PS)?
- Learning Standard (LS): Learning criteria from the syllabus document guide lesson planning and structure.
- Performance Standard (PS): Assessment criteria are defined in the Assessment Setting Document to measure learner outcomes.
What are Objectives, Learner Skills, and Learner Traits?
- Objectives: Specific learning goals for a lesson or activity.
- Learner Skills: Core abilities or competencies emphasized in the curriculum.
- Learner Traits: Characteristics or attributes that foster holistic learner development.
How are these integrated into lesson creation?
When creating lessons in the Experio Builder, you can:
- Link relevant curriculum documents such as Assessment Rubrics, Syllabus, Objectives, Learner Skills, and Learner Traits.
- Assign specific strands from these documents to each question block to align with your educational goals.
- Choose whether to display these strands to learners for transparency in the learning process.
To display the strands, while creating the lesson, click on the respective strands buttons listed under "Learner View Settings" on the lesson builder "Content Creation" tab as shown below.
*The blue toggle indicates it is active
**Active learner view settings will display the strands to the learner in their gradebook module or mobile app
How are Learning Standards displayed in question blocks?
- Primary View (Main Hierarchy):
- Sub-subtopics > Subtopics > Topics (with numbering system).
- Secondary View:
- If sub-subtopic is shown: Related subtopics and topics are clickable.
- If subtopic is shown: Related topics are clickable.
- If topic is shown: No clickable functionality.
How are Performance Standards displayed in question blocks?
- Primary View (Main Hierarchy):
- Description and score.
- Secondary View:
- Criteria (clickable).
What happens if the required documents aren’t attached?
- You’ll be prompted to create or upload the necessary document in the lesson's basic info page or your institution curriculu
Can I integrate Objectives, Learner Skills, and Learner Traits similarly?
Yes!
- Objectives, Learner Skills, and Learner Traits work similarly to Learning Standards and Performance Standards.
- You can tag relevant strands to question blocks, and AI suggestions will guide your selections.
What happens when importing a lesson into Active Curriculum?
If a lesson contains curriculum documents that differ from the unit plan, you’ll be notified:
- You’ll see a pop-up explaining the mismatched documents.
- You can choose to proceed and replace existing curriculum tags or cancel the action.
How Will Learners View the Learning Standards and Performance Standards (LSPS)?
When a learner accesses the Gradebook, any question block with LSPS attached will display a button in the top-right corner of the block.
*This feature is only available for blocks with LSPS attached.
