Lesson Components of BeED
BeED's Learning Experiences (LE's) allow you to structure lessons into smaller, manageable segments. This helps scaffold your lessons effectively and organise content using an interactive map. BeED is accessible through the BeED Web and the BeED App, providing flexibility for both educators and learners.
Components Overview
BeED Web
When you first open an LE in your Library, you will see several common components that appear in every LE. The components and its proper terms as well as its function will be described below.
1. Lesson Info
Located under the "Lesson Info" tab, this section provides details about:
The Place of Interest.
The Learning Experience itself.
Key concepts covered in the lesson.
2. Main Map
The Main Map offers a visual overview of the lesson's structure and content. Access it by clicking the "Map" tab at the top of the page.
Features of the Main Map:
Custom Maps: Content creators can upload personalised maps, such as:
Simple images related to the topic (e.g., flowers).
Mind maps depicting lesson components.
BeED Templates: A variety of free (need you update the link)templates are available for use.
Map Links
Map links are clickable icons within the Main Map that navigate to subsections of the lesson.
Each subsection has its own map, allowing further organisation.
Points
Points are clickable links within the Main Map that lead to the actual lesson content.
Content is divided into smaller chunks to avoid overwhelming learners.
Points help scaffold content, gradually building from simpler to more complex concepts.
Stages
Each Point can be divided into Stages to organise content in a structured manner.
Blocks
Content within a Stage is arranged into Blocks, which can be of two types:
Lesson Block: Contains academic content, including text, audio, data, graphs, and videos.
Question Block: Includes interactive questions or activities. Learners can respond via text, audio, or video. ( There are several types of question block )
Open Response
Require respondents to provide written answers in their own words, encouraging critical thinking and deeper insights without predefined options.
Multiple Choice
Allow learners to select one or more answers from given options, often requiring explanations to encourage critical thinking and deeper understanding.
Random Generator
An option that automatically creates questions based on set criteria or a question bank. It helps educators produce a variety of questions for quizzes, tests, or practice exercises, making learning more dynamic and engaging.
Using the BeED App
In the BeED App, lessons are presented slightly differently from the web version.
Key Features in the App:
Main Map:
Helps educators organise content into Map Links and Points.

Points:
Divide content into digestible chunks for better learner engagement.
Learning Experience Information:
Access essential information about the lesson by tapping the โiโ icon in the top-right corner.
Stages:
Columns within LEs that visually separate content.
Learners can navigate between Stages by:
